Joan Of Arc: Trial And Association With The Hundred Years' War
[ send me this paper ]
9 pages in length. Considered to be one of the most influential women in the history of the world, Joan of Arc was not initially perceived as such during the period she was tried and convicted for witchcraft and heresy by being burned at the stake. Looking back on her life's contributions, it is clear to see that she was one of the first women to boldly and courageously stand up for what she believed was right, in spite of the fact that all around her who held the power construed her actions as being witchery, betrayal and unorthodox. It turns out that after the trial which ultimately took her life, none of this was the truth, but rather that Joan was a person who stood strong for that in which she believed, confident in her choices and willing to give completely of her existence in exchange for her stalwart virtue. Bibliography lists 6 sources.

Greek Law
[ send me this paper ]
8 pages in length. Greek law evolved as a necessary means by which to regulate society's behavior. What had up until then been left up to the whims of each individual to handle on his own was now a product of fair and sensible legal procedure. Italian Renaissance
[ send me this paper ]
When one talks about the Renaissance the most common topic is art and architecture. It is true that the Italian Renaissance was marked by some of the greatest and most prolific masters of painting, sculpture and building. It is also true that the era marked the emergence of a great deal more. It was a time of awakening from the intellectual darkness of the medieval order and the emergence of many of the concepts that would form the basis for civilization as it is known today. The era saw the birth of new attitudes concerning the role of man in his relationship to the world and to God. Unfortunately, for the most part, the expansion of the 'role of man' did not include the role of women. This 7 page paper examines the Italian Renaissance with an emphasis on the changes and how it effected women in that society. Bibliography lists 7 sources.

HumanismÕs Contribution To The Reformation
[ send me this paper ]
A 6 page paper discussing the role of humanistic thought in the Reformation. Many believe 'humanism' to be an arrogance embodied in an attitude that reflects the 1970s attitude of the 'IÕm OK, youÕre OK' ilk. Most of those would be incredulous to learn that humanism, far from being an arrogance of single human worth, was as a movement and attitude of believing that humans could be far more than they had been until the time toward the end of the Dark Ages. We know today that there are factions that agree only on few items aside from the basics of Christianity (i.e., Jesus is GodÕs Son), but todayÕs Christianity is largely based on the humanism that helped drive the Reformation more than 400 years ago. Bibliography lists 4 sources. MLuther.wpd
